Quality Engineer - Mechanical

About the role

A leading provider of airport logistics solutions is looking for a Quality Engineer - Mechanical to join its Quality Management team in Jeddah, KSA. The role covers quality control, documentation, supplier oversight and continuous improvement on projects.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and control suppliers, subcontractors and in-house teams to comply with project quality plans and quality control documentation.
• Develop and implement inspection, test plans, records, method statements and supplier quality requirements, and prepare inspection requests, material inspection requests, submittals and end-of-project documentation.
• Plan internal project status meetings and keep the quality inspection status and the Global List of Open Points up to date.
• Assist in implementing the quality management system, including procedures, work instructions, forms, document and records control, nonconformity handling, corrective action and internal audit.
• Carry out supplier audits, incoming, in-process and installation/commissioning inspections, and record FAT and SAT test results; act on nonconformities.
• Prepare regular work reports, manage work schedules and follow up with subcontractors to close open snags.
• Identify improvement opportunities and use quality control tools such as histograms, control charts, cause-and-effect diagrams, Pareto analysis and scatter diagrams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in quality control in a project-based environment.
• Good understanding of business functions and processes, clear decision-making and multicultural teamwork.
• Detailed, organized and excellent English communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of steel fabrication and installation is a definite edge.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 is a definite edge.
• Hands-on experience in data analysis and statistical reporting.
• Understanding of SCADA/PLC systems is an advantage.
