Construction & Commissioning Engineer

About the role

kbr is hiring a Construction & Commissioning Engineer for a refinery and petrochemical project in Yanbu, Western Region. Candidates with refinery and petrochemical startup and commissioning experience are sought; preference is given to candidates from the Western Region.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate construction activities in line with project specifications, Saudi Aramco standards, quality requirements and HSE regulations.
• Monitor site progress, resolve technical issues and ensure timely project execution.
• Coordinate with Engineering, QA/QC, HSE, vendors and construction teams.
• Manage Mechanical Completion, punch list closure, system turnover and handover documentation.
• Carry out pre-commissioning activities such as flushing, pressure testing, loop checking and functional testing.
• Lead commissioning and start-up of process, utility and support systems, and support troubleshooting, performance testing and final handover to operations.
• Prepare commissioning reports, test records and project close-out documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, instrumentation or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical or industrial projects.
• Mandatory Saudi Aramco project experience.
• Preferred: experience in Saudi Aramco brownfield and greenfield projects, utilities, tank farms, pipelines and industrial facilities.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and system handover.
• Familiarity with mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation systems.
