Job description
About the role
The Control Room Operator monitors and controls plant operation parameters, ensuring safe and efficient performance while coordinating with other operators.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor all unit parameters, record readings, and summarize shift activities in log books.
- Respond quickly to abnormal conditions, coordinate lock‑out/tag‑out procedures, and normalize equipment after maintenance.
- Perform periodic protection tests, equipment change‑overs, and raise work requests for faulty equipment.
- Assist in training new operators and report near‑misses, deviations, and waste disposal issues.
Required profile
- Diploma in Engineering (mandatory) – Bachelor of Engineering preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Control Room Operator.
Required skills
- Knowledge of plant P&IDs, SOPs, emergency procedures, and power/water plant operations.
- Familiarity with fire equipment, PPE, first aid, emission monitoring, and waste classification/disposal.
- Awareness of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 standards.
- Basic computer skills and ability to perform hazard risk assessments.
