Core Logging Geologist - Gold Exploration

About the role

Eram Talent is recruiting an experienced Core Logging Geologist for a mineral exploration team in Dhahran. The role covers detailed geological logging of drill core, sample management and support of exploration programmes focused on base metals with a strong emphasis on gold exploration. It is a field-based position with extended rotations at remote exploration sites, requiring willingness to travel and flexible schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed geological, structural, alteration, mineralization and geotechnical logging of diamond drill core.
• Identify and record lithological units, mineral assemblages, alteration styles and structural features accurately.
• Support exploration targeting through geological interpretation and integration of drilling data.
• Ensure accurate sample selection, marking and preparation in line with QA/QC procedures.
• Maintain high-quality geological databases and ensure data integrity.
• Coordinate with drilling contractors and exploration teams on drilling activities and core handling.
• Assist in geological mapping, trench logging and field reconnaissance as required.
• Interpret exploration results and contribute to technical reports and daily progress updates.
• Follow HSE policies and support resource evaluation with accurate geological data.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Applied Geology or a related Earth Science discipline.
• At least 5 years of hands-on field experience in mineral exploration.
• Proven expertise in core logging for base metal exploration, with significant experience in gold exploration projects.
• Strong understanding of structural geology, alteration mineralogy and ore deposit geology.
• Ability to work independently in remote field locations under challenging conditions.
