Country General Manager – IT Distribution & Consumer Electronics

About the role

ASBIS is seeking a Country General Manager to lead its office and drive growth across IT distribution, value‑added services, solutions, and consumer electronics. The role combines strategic business planning with hands‑on leadership to expand market presence and achieve financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business plans and growth strategies at all levels.
• Represent the company with customers, partners, vendors, government bodies and community organizations.
• Promote ethical business practices and foster a positive corporate culture.
• Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and, when necessary, discipline managers and staff.
• Communicate company values, strategies and objectives, assign accountabilities and monitor performance.
• Build and manage budgets, oversee day‑to‑day operations and ensure quality service standards.
• Evaluate performance and productivity, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in business development within the IT distribution or consumer electronics sectors.
• Proven track record in commercial sales leadership and achieving results.
• Strong business acumen with solid knowledge of finance, HR, procurement, sales and operations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and coach individuals and teams.
• Excellent organizational, leadership and communication skills.
• Analytical thinking with a balanced micro‑ and macro‑view.
• Effective decision‑making, flexibility and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
