About the role
The Customs Officer will oversee all import and export clearance activities, ensuring full compliance with Saudi Arabian regulations while minimizing delays and costs. This role acts as the primary liaison between the company, customs authorities, and logistics partners to guarantee smooth shipment release.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and review shipping documents such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
- Coordinate with government agencies including Customs, SFDA, and port authorities.
- Manage the end‑to‑end clearance process from arrival to final release, monitoring critical shipments to reduce lead time.
- Validate HS code classifications, duties, taxes, and related charges.
- Liaise with customs brokers and clearance agents, handling inspections, holds, and delays.
- Ensure compliance with all customs regulations and internal company policies.
- Produce periodic performance reports covering cost, lead time, and issues.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years of experience in customs clearance or a similar function.
- Strong knowledge of Saudi customs regulations and systems such as FASAH and SABER.
- Good understanding of Incoterms and experience dealing with government entities.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
Required skills
- Advanced Excel proficiency.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Familiarity with customs clearance platforms (FASAH, SABER).
