Data Center Technician

About the role

Eram Talent is recruiting a Data Center Technician in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to work on site within the KST department. The technician works 24x7 shifts, handling incidents, monitoring environmental, power and server hardware, and keeping data centers safe and running.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and support data center facilities 24x7, ensuring safety and uptime.
• Rack, derack and physically install servers, network devices, power equipment, KVM and cabling.
• Cable copper and fiber in line with TIA-942 standards.
• Monitor and record environmental and facility systems such as power, HVAC, fire detection/suppression, temperature and humidity.
• Provide break/fix support for Windows and Linux servers and carry out basic OS installation and server configuration.
• Control access, manage visitor logging and escorts, and ensure work permits and material gate passes are issued.
• Interface with vendors (HP, Dell, Sun, Supermicro) for hardware implementation and troubleshooting.
• Prepare end-of-shift reports and keep accurate change documentation.
• Take part in on-call rotation, night and weekend shifts and other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of IT experience, including at least 3 years in data center operations.
• Hands-on experience installing, troubleshooting and cabling (copper and fiber).
• Familiarity with data center safety, security and operational SOPs.
• Ability to work shifts, nights, weekends and on-call schedules.

Required skills

• Intermediate knowledge of Windows Server and Linux installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of UPS, power circuits and HVAC.
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic documentation and reporting.
