About the role
Albawani is seeking a Data Governance Specialist to support the implementation and daily operation of its enterprise data governance framework. The role sits at the intersection of data management, regulatory compliance, and risk, ensuring that data assets are accurate, protected, and handled in line with Saudi Arabian regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the enterprise data governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures for data quality, lineage, metadata management, and classification.
- Define and enforce data ownership and stewardship models across business domains.
- Participate in Data Governance Council meetings and coordinate cross‑functional working groups.
- Maintain the business glossary and enterprise data catalogue.
- Support compliance with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), including data subject rights, consent management, and cross‑border transfer controls.
- Implement controls aligned with the National Cybersecurity Authority’s Essential Cybersecurity Controls (ECC) and Data Cybersecurity Controls (DCC).
- Conduct gap analyses against SDAIA and NCA requirements and develop remediation plans.
- Monitor regulatory updates and translate new requirements into actionable governance tasks.
- Partner with Legal, Privacy, and Cybersecurity teams to embed governance controls throughout the data lifecycle.
- Assist with third‑party data sharing assessments and vendor due diligence.
- Define and monitor data quality dimensions (completeness, accuracy, timeliness, consistency) and related KPIs.
- Support master data management activities to ensure consistency of critical data entities.
Required profile
- Proven experience in data governance, data management, or regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with Saudi data protection regulations (PDPL, SDAIA) and cybersecurity standards (NCA).
- Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct gap analyses and develop remediation plans.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work with data engineering, legal, cybersecurity, and business teams.
