Demi Chef – Turkish Cuisine

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Demi Chef to join the Turkish kitchen at Sofitel Shahd Al Madinah. You will work closely with the Chef de Partie to deliver authentic Turkish dishes that meet our high standards of taste, presentation, and hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook Turkish dishes according to recipes and hotel standards.
• Assist the Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
• Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned kitchen section.
• Monitor food stock levels and support inventory control.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of all food items in line with hygiene standards.
• Support waste minimisation and cost‑control initiatives.
• Follow all health, safety and HACCP procedures.
• Coordinate effectively with other kitchen and service team members.
• Assist in training junior kitchen staff when required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in Turkish cuisine within hotels or restaurants.
• Good knowledge of authentic Turkish cooking techniques, ingredients and presentation styles.
• Fluent English communication skills; Turkish language highly preferred.
• Culinary certification or relevant hospitality qualification is an advantage.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
• Strong teamwork and time‑management abilities.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Familiarity with traditional Turkish hospitality and dining standards is a plus.
