Design Architect

About the role

SGI is looking for a Design Architect to lead design quality, consultant coordination and technical reviews across its development portfolio. The role supports concept development, feasibility studies and design optimisation while aligning projects with the company’s vision and commercial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Review architectural design submissions from concept through tender stages.
• Support consultant management and multidisciplinary design coordination.
• Prepare concept studies, design alternatives, test fits and feasibility layouts for management review.
• Evaluate space planning, functionality, circulation and user experience.
• Coordinate with interior design, landscape, engineering, cost and project management teams.
• Participate in design workshops and technical coordination meetings.
• Assist in value engineering and design optimisation initiatives.
• Prepare executive presentations and technical reports.
• Conduct benchmarking studies and research on international developments.
• Support the preparation of design standards and departmental technical guidelines.
• Monitor consultant performance and submission quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture (Master's degree is an advantage).
• 6–10 years of professional architectural experience.
• Experience in mixed‑use, hospitality, luxury residential, commercial or master‑planned developments.
• Previous experience with developers, design consultancies or client‑side organisations preferred.
• Strong understanding of all project stages from concept through tender documentation.
• GCC experience highly preferred.
• Fluent English; Arabic is an advantage.
