Senior Electrical Designer

About the role

Saipem is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to join its engineering team. Reporting to the Lead Electrical, you will lead a group of up to ten engineers and be responsible for the full lifecycle of electrical system design for energy and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Execute technical tasks related to design, verification, testing and study of electrical systems according to project requirements and schedules.
• Coordinate information exchange across all project stakeholders and apply Saipem operating guidelines.
• Support feasibility, bidding and commercial phases by analysing tender requirements, preparing material take‑offs, MTOs and BOQs.
• Develop detailed plant designs (cable routing, grounding, lighting, tracing layouts, substation arrangements) in 2D/3D.
• Size power cables, define installation details, and review vendor documentation.
• Prepare technical specifications, data sheets, purchase requisitions and evaluate supplier quotations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electrical system design for offshore/onshore projects.
• Ability to manage and support a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC and HSE requirements.
• Familiarity with project documentation standards and client technical specifications.
