Design Engineer – Fiberglass/Composite Products

About the role

The Design Engineer will lead the design, development, and engineering of fiberglass and composite products and related tooling within a manufacturing environment. The role ensures that all engineering outputs meet customer specifications, NOV standards, manufacturing capabilities, and cost‑effectiveness targets while supporting product development and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and refine engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to satisfy production and customer requirements.
• Create detailed 2D/3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings using CAD software in line with NOV drafting standards.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and product development teams to optimise designs for manufacturability and performance.
• Review customer specifications and project requirements to confirm technical compliance and feasibility.
• Participate in engineering change management, ensuring controlled revisions and proper communication.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs), design packages, and related documentation.
• Support R&D initiatives, prototype development, and continuous improvement of composite materials and product design.
• Present engineering reports, design reviews, timelines, and progress updates to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 3–5 years of engineering design experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to anticipate issues, make sound engineering decisions, and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor.
• Experience creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Knowledge of composite materials, fiberglass structures, and polymer‑based applications.
• Ability to read and design engineering packages.
