Design Engineer (Manufacturing)

About the role

The Design Engineer (Manufacturing) will lead the engineering design, analysis, and documentation of heavy fabricated equipment such as pressure vessels, piping systems, and process equipment. The role ensures all designs comply with ASME codes, NACE standards, relevant pipeline codes, and customer specifications while meeting safety, cost, and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, and technical documentation in accordance with ASME, NACE, and client specifications.
• Develop 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, including GA, fabrication, isometric drawings, and BOMs.
• Select appropriate materials based on process conditions, corrosion considerations, and ASTM/ASME/API standards; review material test certificates.
• Coordinate with Production, Planning, QA/QC, and Procurement teams to support fabrication, welding, and inspection.
• Interface with customers, third‑party inspectors, and consultants to obtain approvals and clarify technical queries.
• Conduct internal design reviews, support HAZOP assessments, and ensure documentation for code compliance and audits.
• Identify design optimization opportunities, standardize practices, and stay updated on code revisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing pressure vessels, piping systems, or similar process equipment.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8 and NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156.
• Ability to perform mechanical design calculations (thickness, stress, nozzle loads, supports).
• Familiarity with material standards (ASTM, ASME, API) and material certification review.
• Effective coordination with multidisciplinary teams and customers.
