Design Manager

About the role

ABYATONA Real Estates is looking for an experienced Design Manager to lead the design function across multiple real‑estate projects, from concept through detailed design and construction. The role ensures design quality, compliance, and timely delivery while aligning with project objectives and budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage multidisciplinary design teams (architectural, structural, MEP, infrastructure, specialist consultants).
• Review and approve design deliverables for compliance with codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Establish and monitor design schedules, milestones, and key deliverables.
• Coordinate with project management, construction, commercial, and technical teams to ensure seamless delivery.
• Identify and mitigate design conflicts, risks, and opportunities early in the project lifecycle.
• Lead design review meetings, manage technical comments, and oversee change management.
• Support value engineering, design optimisation, and ensure documentation of design decisions.
• Monitor consultant performance and ensure quality and schedule adherence.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and liaison with authorities for approvals and permits.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of design management experience in construction or real‑estate projects.
• Proven ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams and manage complex design interfaces.
• Strong understanding of applicable codes, industry standards, and construction methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with stakeholders, consultants, and authorities.
