Director of Engineering

About the role

The Engineering Director will shape SiFi's technical architecture and drive engineering excellence across backend, frontend, mobile and quality assurance. Reporting to senior leadership, this role ensures secure, scalable fintech solutions that meet SAMA regulations while building high‑performing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical architecture strategy and engineering standards across backend, frontend, mobile, and QA.
• Build, develop, and scale high‑performing engineering teams with clear career paths.
• Establish and enforce secure coding, testing, and deployment processes that meet financial‑services regulations.
• Partner with product teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Collaborate with the Infrastructure Manager to integrate development and operations, implementing DevOps and SRE practices.
• Ensure all deliverables comply with SAMA, PCI DSS and other financial‑services security standards.
• Drive technical innovation while maintaining system reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Oversee comprehensive QA strategies including automated, performance, and security testing.
• Manage technology vendor relationships, tooling, and infrastructure costs to optimize ROI.
• Implement engineering metrics and KPIs to enable data‑driven decision making.

Required profile

• 12+ years of engineering experience with at least 5 years in senior leadership of teams of 15+ engineers.
• Proven background in fintech, payment systems or financial services.
• Strong track record of building inclusive, high‑performing teams in fast‑scaling environments.
• Data‑driven management style using metrics and analytics.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across product, operations and senior leadership.
