Divisional Controller – Financial Controls & Risk Management

About the role

The Divisional Controller is responsible for overseeing financial controls, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance within the division. You will work closely with business management to identify control gaps, develop remediation plans, and ensure accurate financial performance reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Identify control deficiencies, root causes and develop mitigation plans to minimise risk exposure.
• Prepare and recommend the division budget, analyse financial data and monitor performance against budget.
• Develop and execute a controls testing plan, coordinate with the Internal Control Manager and produce analytical reports on testing results.
• Ensure timely follow‑up on audit, risk, compliance and internal control observations and implement corrective actions.
• Submit periodic reports to the Head of Division on compliance, risk, audit and technology posture.
• Train and advise division staff on regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Coordinate with Compliance, SAMA and external regulators on new regulations and breach mitigation.
• Consolidate and monitor division KPIs, highlighting gaps and variances.

Required profile

• Strong background in finance, internal control or risk management, preferably within banking or a regulated industry.
• Proven ability to analyse financial performance and develop actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with senior management, compliance teams and regulators.
• Detail‑oriented with a solid understanding of regulatory standards and audit processes.
