EHS Officer - Chemical Plant

About the role

Oil Chemistry Industrial Company is looking for an EHS Officer in Dammam to implement its environment, health and safety programme across the reaction facility, blending plant and warehouse. The role covers permits, inspections, training and incident management in line with Saudi regulations, with at least 70% of working time spent on site coaching staff on QHSE compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor personnel compliance with QHSE processes and coach, mentor and guide staff on site
• Assist in implementing safety policies and procedures, and conduct basic safety inspections and audits
• Help with risk assessments and incident investigations, and assist in developing QHSE operating procedures
• Promote safety awareness among employees, consultants and contractors, and make recommendations for corrective action
• Coordinate regular safety meetings with the HOD, QHSE Supervisor or QHSE Manager
• Run the permit-to-work system (hot work, confined space, working at height, LOTO)
• Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks and HSE induction and refresher training
• Maintain risk assessments, MSDS library and chemical exposure controls, and manage waste handling, spill response drills and environmental monitoring
• Support compliance with HCIS, Saudi Civil Defense and MODON requirements

Required profile

• BSc or Diploma in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science or Engineering
• 2+ years of HSE experience in chemical, petrochemical or manufacturing plants
• NEBOSH, IGC (or equivalent) and OSHA 30 certification; ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 knowledge is a plus
• Knowledge of KSA HSE regulations (HCIS/Civil Defense) preferred
• Working schedule of 6 days per week, Saturday to Thursday
