Engineering Manager (WC3 Squad Lead)

About the role

WakeCap is building a connected‑worker platform for large‑scale construction sites. As the WC3 Squad Lead you will own the end‑to‑end SaaS core that connects IoT hardware to customer workflows, shaping architecture, building a senior team, and ensuring high engineering quality.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own platform architecture, including data ontology, pipelines, streaming backbone, SDK/API surface, authorization, governance, and DevOps.
• Lead hiring end‑to‑end: set standards, run recruitment, and make hiring decisions.
• Drive team performance and culture through clear expectations, feedback, reviews, and decisive actions.
• Design and deliver the AI‑powered (AIP) layer, including agent runtime and MCP surface.
• Manage delivery: sprint planning, agile ceremonies, and translating roadmap into shippable increments with Product.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with progression to leadership.
• 5+ years of direct engineering management experience.
• Proven track record delivering scalable, multi‑tenant SaaS or large‑scale distributed systems.
• Experience with ontology‑driven, governed data platforms (e.g., Palantir Foundry/AIP, Databricks Unity Catalog).
• Exceptional written and spoken English.
