Executive Pastry Chef

About the role

The new Four Seasons Resort at The Red Sea, Saudi Arabia, is soon to open on Shura Island, a luxury beachside destination with about 149 rooms and suites and six restaurant and lounge outlets. As Executive Pastry Chef, you will lead the pastry and bakery department alongside the Executive Chef, overseeing all aspects of pastry and bakery operations and maintaining the high standards of quality and presentation that define Four Seasons.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the pastry and bakery department, ensuring pastries and desserts meet the highest standards of quality, consistency and presentation.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations so that service runs smoothly and resources are used efficiently.
• Train, mentor and develop pastry and bakery staff.
• Stay current with pastry and culinary trends and incorporate new techniques and ideas into the menu.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef to design innovative dessert menus aligned with the resort's culinary vision.
• Manage inventory and ordering of pastry supplies so the kitchen is well-stocked without overstocking.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation regulations.
• Foster teamwork, collaboration and continuous improvement within the department.

Required profile

• College degree, preferably in Culinary Arts or Hotel/Restaurant Management, or equivalent experience.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in a culinary leadership role, specializing in pastry design and creation.
• Proven experience managing a pastry and bakery team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with English proficiency.
• Strong leadership, organizational and time-management skills.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of culinary production equipment and food and beverage computer systems.
• Ability to stay up to date with industry trends and innovations.
