Field Service Technician

About the role

Istify is looking for a hands‑on Field Service Technician to install, commission, maintain and troubleshoot integrated energy and building systems at commercial and industrial sites across Saudi Arabia. The role involves working with electrical, control and automation equipment, building management systems and solar photovoltaic installations, ensuring reliable operation and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, service and maintain integrated energy and building systems at client sites.
• Perform testing, diagnostics, troubleshooting and corrective maintenance on electrical, control and automation equipment.
• Support installation and servicing of renewable energy systems, including solar PV modules, inverters and protection devices.
• Carry out electrical works such as wiring, terminations, inspections, testing and fault identification in line with standards and safety procedures.
• Configure, install and maintain building automation (BMS) including HVAC, lighting and monitoring controls.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and performance checks to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, layouts and control diagrams.
• Prepare accurate service reports, maintenance records and commissioning documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and client representatives during projects and service visits.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and site regulations.

Required profile

• Valid Saudi Iqama (transferable) and a Saudi driving licence.
• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, Renewable Energy or a related field.
• At least 5 years of hands‑on field experience with electrical systems, solar PV or building automation.
• Strong problem‑solving ability, professional work ethic and customer‑service orientation.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Willingness to travel to project and client sites as required.

Required skills

• Electrical testing, troubleshooting and maintenance practices.
• Experience with building management system (BMS) platforms.
• Knowledge of solar PV systems and commissioning procedures.
• Ability to read and understand electrical and control schematics.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
