Field Support Specialist (Freelance / Dispatch)

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Freelance Field Support Specialist to deliver on‑site IT assistance when full‑time engineers are unavailable or during dispatch activities. The role involves hands‑on technical work across desktops, laptops, peripherals, and AV equipment, ensuring minimal downtime for end users.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site support for desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software according to organizational standards.
• Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) tasks for IT assets.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including break‑fix support.
• Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for repairs, replacements, and escalations.
• Maintain IT inventory, asset tracking, and documentation.
• Image laptops and desktops and support printer/network printer installations.
• Assist with conference‑room AV setup and meeting‑room technologies.
• Deliver high‑touch VIP/end‑user support and handle Office 365 account issues.
• Support both Windows and Mac environments and ensure SLA compliance.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and contribute to knowledge‑base articles.
• Provide after‑hours coverage for events and recurring meetings as needed.

Required profile

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Self‑motivated and capable of working independently in a dynamic setting.
• Experience managing inventory and coordinating with vendors.

Required skills

• Desktop and laptop troubleshooting and configuration.
• Hardware support and peripheral device handling.
• Basic networking knowledge (DHCP, DNS, LAN connectivity).
• Printer and network‑printer setup and troubleshooting.
• Office 365 support.
