Field Support Specialist – Freelance IT Dispatch

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Freelance Field Support Specialist to provide on‑site IT assistance across our industrial site. The role is focused on delivering rapid, high‑touch support when full‑time engineers are unavailable or during dispatch activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site support for desktops, laptops, Macs and peripheral devices.
• Install, configure and maintain hardware and software according to company standards.
• Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) tasks for IT assets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, including break‑fix and compliance/security software.
• Coordinate repairs and replacements with OEMs and vendors.
• Manage IT inventory, asset tracking and documentation.
• Create system images for laptops and desktops.
• Set up, troubleshoot and maintain printers and network printers.
• Support conference‑room AV equipment and meeting‑room technologies.
• Provide VIP/end‑user support and adhere to defined SLAs.
• Assist with Office 365 issues and general user account problems.
• Support after‑hours activities, events and recurring meetings as needed.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of desktop and laptop troubleshooting and configuration.
• Hands‑on experience with hardware installation, peripheral devices and basic networking (DHCP, DNS, LAN).
• Familiarity with printer and network printer setup and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting Office 365 environments.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Experience in inventory management and vendor coordination.
