Field Technician

About the role

The Field Service Technician is a hands‑on role responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of Pronto's autonomous haulage technology across a range of customer mine sites. This position plays a critical role in ensuring successful deployment and optimal performance of Pronto equipment in the field.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, and troubleshoot autonomous retrofit kits on heavy‑duty mining equipment at active open‑pit sites.
• Work on customer sites as part of a deployment crew, often as the sole technical presence.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks to ensure system health, reliability, and long‑term performance.
• Monitor and log equipment conditions, identifying signs of wear, degradation, or environmental impact.
• Diagnose and repair hardware, software, and connectivity issues in the field.
• Serve as the face of Pronto during on‑site visits, maintaining professional and responsive communication with customer personnel.

Required profile

• 3+ years hands‑on experience as a heavy equipment, diesel, automotive, avionics, industrial controls, or military/vehicle maintenance technician.
• Hands‑on low‑voltage (12/24 V DC) electrical work: harness routing, connector termination, crimping, sensor and actuator installation.
• Ability to read and work from wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation drawings.
• Ability to mobilize on short notice (24‑72 hours) and deploy for multi‑week rotations; role involves ~75 % travel.
• Valid driver’s licence and comfort with extreme site conditions, shift work, nights and weekends.
• Proficiency with standard business tools such as email, ticketing systems, spreadsheets, documentation platforms, and instant messaging.
