Finance Director – Financial Governance for Sports Federations

About the role

The Finance Director will lead financial governance across national sports federations, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and integrity in all financial operations. Acting as the primary financial governance partner, you will provide expert oversight, corrective guidance, and strategic insight to elevate financial performance and accountability throughout the sports ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain unified accounting frameworks for federations, guaranteeing consistency with national and international reporting standards.
• Review monthly and annual financial statements, monitor budget adherence, and identify risks or irregularities.
• Lead planning, execution, and fieldwork of financial audits, delivering consolidated insights and remediation recommendations.
• Conduct forensic reviews and special investigations into suspected fraud, misconduct, or conflict‑of‑interest issues.
• Develop evidence‑based reports to support decision‑making, disciplinary actions, and risk mitigation.
• Serve as the main financial liaison between federations and the global organization, coordinating with Finance, Legal, GRC, Procurement, and Internal Audit teams.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in financial accounting, audit oversight, and forensic investigations.
• Strong knowledge of national and international financial reporting standards and auditing practices.
• Proven track record of establishing and managing financial governance frameworks.
