Finance Manager - Operations

About the role

The Finance Manager – Operations will act as the embedded finance business partner for venue operations, delivering financial leadership, strategic insight, and decision support to drive profitability across multiple entertainment destinations.

Key responsibilities

• Own venue P&L performance by managing financial results, analysing revenue streams (tickets, F&B, retail, attractions), monitoring operating costs and driving actions to meet EBITDA and profitability targets.
• Partner with venue and operations managers, translating financial data into actionable insights and influencing decisions early in the planning process.
• Track operational metrics such as per‑capita spend, attendance vs. forecast, revenue per visitor, labour cost ratios and F&B margins, recommending improvements to optimise performance.
• Support budgeting and forecasting by collaborating with venue managers, incorporating seasonality, event calendars and capacity, and providing variance analysis with corrective recommendations.
• Identify and implement cost‑optimization initiatives, improving labour scheduling efficiency, monitoring vendor costs and maintaining guest experience standards.
• Ensure financial controls through cash‑handling oversight, inventory management, shrinkage monitoring and compliance with policies, supporting internal and external audits.
• Develop and lead the operations finance analyst team, setting objectives, providing coaching and building a high‑performing function.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration (minimum).
• 6‑7 years of finance experience with significant exposure to operations or business partnering.
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience managing finance professionals.
• Experience in entertainment, hospitality, leisure or multi‑unit retail operations is strongly preferred.
• Professional certifications such as CMA (preferred) or CPA (advantageous) are a plus.
