Financial Accountant

About the role

Biosceptre, an international biotechnology company, is expanding its operations in Saudi Arabia and seeks a capable Financial Accountant. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller in Sydney, you will gain exposure to finance, taxation, audit and regulatory compliance across Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and general ledger balances.
• Process accounts payable, expense claims and accounts receivable transactions.
• Review vendor accounts, prepare payment requests and execute bank transfers.
• Reconcile bank, credit‑card and payroll accounts.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Prepare audit schedules and coordinate auditor requests.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow reporting.
• Prepare management reports and financial reporting packages.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian tax and regulatory requirements (VAT, Withholding Tax, Zakat, Corporate Income Tax).
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisers and service providers.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Support implementation and improvement of financial controls, policies and procedures.
• Participate in ad‑hoc finance and business projects.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with management, auditors and external advisers across multiple jurisdictions.
