First Team Sports Scientist

About the role

Join the performance department of a professional football club in Saudi Arabia as a First Team Sports Scientist. You will work closely with coaches, medical staff and the Head of Performance to translate complex physiological data into actionable insights that drive elite player performance.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, analyse and interpret GPS, heart‑rate and biometric data to monitor training load, fatigue and readiness.
• Produce clear reports for coaches and performance staff to support evidence‑based training and match preparation.
• Design and adjust individual conditioning programmes based on positional demands and player data.
• Oversee pre‑season, in‑season and recovery programmes to optimise aerobic and anaerobic fitness.
• Monitor recovery markers such as sleep, soreness and readiness, tailoring recovery strategies for each player.
• Conduct physical testing, movement screening and assessments to identify injury risk factors.
• Collaborate with medical and performance teams on integrated performance plans and rehabilitation decisions.
• Stay updated on emerging sports‑science technologies, wearable devices and performance methodologies.
