General Manager – Architecture & Design (Principal Architect)

About the role

We are looking for an accomplished General Manager – Architecture & Design to lead a growing consultancy in Riyadh. The role combines senior architectural expertise with a strong business mindset to drive design excellence, project delivery, and market growth.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategic direction and business performance of the Architecture & Design division.
• Oversee planning, design, coordination and delivery of hospitality, F&B, retail, commercial and mixed‑use projects.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams including Architects, Interior Designers, BIM Managers, BIM Architects, BIM Modelers and Project Coordinators.
• Maintain design standards, technical excellence and best practices across all projects.
• Build and nurture relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders.
• Review and approve concept designs, design development packages, construction documentation and technical submissions.
• Monitor project profitability, resource planning, budgets and overall business performance.
• Drive innovation through new technologies, BIM methodologies and sustainable design practices.
• Mentor department leaders and foster a collaborative, high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture; professional registration or license preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in Architecture & Design, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record leading architecture firms or large multidisciplinary design departments.
• Strong portfolio of hospitality, F&B, retail, commercial and mixed‑use projects.
• Demonstrated success in business development, client acquisition and strategic planning.
• Commercial acumen with experience managing P&L.
