GIS I&C Team Lead

About the role

As a GIS Installation & Commissioning Team Lead at Hitachi Energy in Dammam, you will provide technical advice to customers, oversee commissioning, installation and testing of GIS equipment, and resolve complex start‑up issues. You will also drive continuous improvement by recommending product upgrades and building long‑term customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a mixed team of junior and experienced GIS field service engineers.
• Manage daily site activities, ensuring on‑time execution of new assemblies, fault repairs, preventive maintenance and commissioning.
• Participate in site meetings, review reports, and correct documentation errors.
• Maintain safety standards (6 SOT) and close hazards promptly.
• Coach and monitor team competency, updating the competency matrix and ensuring sufficient certified supervisors.
• Plan and monitor team utilisation across projects, fostering clear communication with project managers and site supervisors.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and uphold Hitachi Energy’s safety and integrity values.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience with GIS, preferably in installation and commissioning.
• GIS certification is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of SF6 gas handling; PGHV transmission GIS product knowledge preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Project.
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Arabic.
