About the role
The Government Relations Officer supports the hotel’s operations by managing all visa, permit, licence and related governmental processes for employees and key personnel. This role ensures compliance with immigration, health, and other regulatory requirements while maintaining strong relationships with relevant authorities.
Key responsibilities
- Process visa applications, renewals, cancellations and coordinate directly with immigration departments for staff and their families.
- Obtain and renew medical certificates, occupational health cards, and other governmental permits and licences.
- Maintain records of passports and visa expiry dates, notifying team members and arranging renewals in advance.
- Act as liaison with government bodies such as immigration, health, information ministries, traffic police and other departments.
- Provide assistance on police, court, labour and immigration issues affecting the workforce.
- Safeguard employee passports and ensure compliance with fire safety, hygiene and hotel standards.
- Support the General Manager or HR Director with any additional tasks related to government relations.
Required profile
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact with diverse audiences with patience, tact and diplomacy.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple regulatory deadlines.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Windows XP operating system.
- Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word.
