Head of Engineering

About the role

We are looking for a Head of Engineering to lead our engineering consultancy and design function in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. Reporting to senior management, you will act as the senior technical authority across civil, mechanical and electrical disciplines, providing advisory and design leadership for group entities, charity projects and internal operations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver civil, mechanical and electrical engineering consulting services, including site assessments, feasibility studies and technical evaluations.
• Oversee production of engineering drawings, AutoCAD drafts and design packages, managing offshore CAD and interior‑design resources.
• Provide technical support to operations on fit‑out, renovation and maintenance projects, advising on materials, construction methods and engineering solutions.
• Establish and enforce quality standards, drawing conventions and ensure compliance with Saudi building codes and municipal regulations.
• Lead, mentor and evaluate in‑house engineers and the offshore design team, allocating workload and identifying training needs.
• Maintain document control through the admin assistant/document controller and prepare monthly engineering activity reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years (120 months) of engineering experience in a consultancy or design environment.
• Proven senior technical authority across civil, mechanical and electrical disciplines.
• Experience managing offshore drafting teams and document control processes.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi building codes, municipal regulations and industry standards.
• Ability to act as owner’s representative and liaise with external engineering offices and contractors.
