Head of Legal & Compliance – Saudi Arabia & North Africa

About the role

Join Sandoz as the Head of Legal & Compliance for Saudi Arabia and North Africa, serving as the primary legal business partner to the Country Head. You will lead contractual negotiations, ensure statutory compliance, and provide strategic legal guidance across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Act as legal Business Partner to the Country Head, handling contractual negotiations and statutory obligations.
• Draft complex transactions and contracts independently, providing contextual legal advice and training key stakeholders.
• Identify and assess business risks, conduct robust risk assessments and advise on appropriate actions.
• Manage significant disputes, litigation and investigations, making independent decisions within a broad framework.
• Lead and develop junior legal counsels, paralegals and support staff, and oversee legal projects such as licensing and divestments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law.
• Residency in Riyadh.
• Minimum 10 years of experience, preferably in healthcare or pharmaceutical sector.
• Proven experience managing Legal & Compliance teams and leading interactions with government and regulatory authorities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; Arabic highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and high pressure.
