Head of Workers Welfare & Wellbeing

About the role

The Head of Workers Welfare & Wellbeing will steer the strategic vision and ESG commitments of a high‑profile project in Saudi Arabia. Reporting to senior leadership, this role ensures that welfare policies, human‑rights safeguards and labour‑law compliance are embedded across all project phases.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement an enterprise‑wide Workers Welfare & Wellbeing strategy aligned with client ESG goals.
• Establish governance structures, escalation pathways and contract clauses to integrate welfare obligations.
• Provide executive‑level advice on welfare performance, human‑rights risks and regulatory compliance.
• Lead the assurance framework, overseeing contractor pre‑qualification, risk audits and compliance monitoring.
• Maintain an auditable evidence base for executive reporting, lender reviews and government inspections.
• Direct the labour‑rights compliance programme and manage the grievance mechanism ensuring confidentiality and accessibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Industrial Relations or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 22 years of progressive experience in workers welfare, human rights or labour relations.
• 8‑10 years of director‑level leadership in complex, multi‑contractor environments.
• Proven track record of leading enterprise‑wide welfare, assurance or compliance programmes on major projects.
