Heat Treatment Technician – Gas Turbine Components

About the role

The Heat Treatment Technician supports heat‑treatment operations on gas‑turbine components, executing process steps safely and accurately while driving Lean improvements on the production line.

Key responsibilities

• Perform heat‑treatment operations according to approved work instructions, process specifications, and engineering requirements.
• Read and interpret work instructions and quality forms to ensure accurate execution.
• Record and maintain precise process and measurement data.
• Operate heat‑treatment equipment, furnaces, fixtures, thermocouples, and hand tools safely.
• Inspect parts before and after treatment to verify quality compliance.
• Follow Standard Work and Standard Work Combination Sheets to maintain consistency and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area following 5S standards.
• Apply Lean principles daily, identify improvement opportunities, and support waste reduction.
• Participate in problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis, and corrective‑action activities.
• Use shop‑floor systems such as ELM and SmartShop as required.

Required profile

• Diploma, technical college degree, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Knowledge or experience in manufacturing, heat‑treatment, or industrial roles.
• Minimum 2 years experience with diffusion heat‑treatment processes.
• Minimum 2 years experience with solution and aging heat‑treatment processes.
• Experience with gas‑turbine components or other precision aerospace/industrial parts.
• Experience participating in problem‑solving or process‑improvement activities.

Required skills

• Heat‑treatment processes (diffusion, solution, aging).
• Operation of furnaces, fixtures, thermocouples, and hand tools.
• Use of shop‑floor software systems (ELM, SmartShop).
• Lean methodology and 5S implementation.
• Root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action techniques.
