Instrument Technician

About the role

The Instrument Technician will join the maintenance team at Jeddah Paper Mills Limited in Madinah, supporting the paper production line. The role focuses on installing, maintaining and calibrating instrumentation and control systems to ensure reliable process measurements.

Key responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, test and commission sensors, transmitters, control valves and other field instruments.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on instrumentation equipment.
• Diagnose faults, troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation issues to minimise downtime.
• Verify and adjust instrument readings to maintain accurate process control.
• Interpret and work from instrumentation drawings, loop diagrams and P&IDs.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering and electrical teams for equipment integration and upgrades.
• Document maintenance activities, calibration records and safety procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement and process optimisation initiatives.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Instrumentation Technology or a related field.
• Prior experience as an Instrumentation Technician; paper‑mill experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Ability to read and understand instrumentation schematics, loop diagrams and P&IDs.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Madinah and support installation and commissioning activities.
• Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications may also be considered.

Required skills

• Industrial instrumentation and field devices (sensors, transmitters, control valves, level/flow/temperature instruments)
• Instrument installation, calibration, testing, troubleshooting and commissioning
• Reading and interpreting instrumentation drawings, loop diagrams and P&IDs
• Knowledge of PLC, DCS and SCADA control systems
• Understanding of instrumentation and electrical safety procedures
