IT Specialist

About the role

The IT Specialist provides first- and second-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues while ensuring the reliability and security of the organization’s information systems. The role involves both hands‑on troubleshooting and strategic tasks such as system upgrades and disaster‑recovery planning.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first‑ and second‑level support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers and other peripherals.
• Install, configure, and maintain software, hardware, servers and data‑storage systems.
• Track IT assets, manage inventory and set up equipment for new hires.
• Document incidents and solutions in the service‑desk knowledge base.
• Monitor system performance and availability, and respond to alerts.
• Plan, test and implement system upgrades and integrate new applications.
• Develop and maintain backup and disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Implement security measures to protect systems from unauthorized use.
• Mentor junior staff, create training material and share best practices.
• Coordinate with other teams to ensure seamless operations and oversee system administrators when required.

Required profile

• 0‑2 years of IT support experience in a healthcare environment (or 3+ years for senior‑level responsibilities).
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and excellent documentation skills.
• Leadership or mentoring experience is a plus.
