Kannada Language Expert (Remote)

About the role

This remote, hourly contractor position involves acting as a Kannada Subject‑Matter Expert to evaluate and improve AI‑generated Kannada content. You will provide detailed feedback in English, ensuring language quality, cultural relevance, and factual accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Review and quality‑check existing translations of English science benchmark questions, comparing original translations with AI‑generated corrections.
• Select the appropriate outcome (accept original, accept AI correction, edit, or escalate) and write concise review comments.
• Assess outputs for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, and adherence to the prompt.
• Fact‑check claims when needed and produce high‑quality rewrites and model answers demonstrating best Kannada writing practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Linguistics, Kannada/English Literature, Communications, Journalism, Translation, or equivalent professional experience.
• Native or near‑native proficiency in Kannada (reading and writing) and professional English proficiency (minimum C1).
• At least 3 years of experience in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism, education, or related language‑focused work.
• Deep understanding of Kannada grammar, spelling conventions, punctuation, and style, with ability to explain errors and corrections.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote, hourly workflow.
