Key Account Manager – Modern Trade

About the role

The Key Account Manager will lead the modern trade channel, overseeing more than 150 SKUs at the point of purchase. The role coordinates cross‑functional teams to develop and execute strategies that increase sales and market share with major retailers such as Panda, Carrefour, and others.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage relationships with key account partners, including supermarkets and hypermarkets.
• Negotiate business development agreements (BDA) with major retailers (e.g., Panda, Othaim, Carrefour, Danube, Bin Dawood, Tamimi).
• Develop and implement strategies to grow sales and market share through the modern trade channel.
• Collaborate with trade‑marketing and merchandising teams to plan in‑store promotions, displays, and ensure product availability.
• Monitor market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity to adjust strategies.
• Lead, motivate and train the key‑accounts team, defining optimal sales organization structure.
• Manage modern‑trade budget, track expenditures and ensure compliance with limits.
• Create reporting tools and performance dashboards to evaluate business outcomes.
• Coordinate with area sales managers to communicate plans and ensure collection alignment.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing key accounts in the modern trade or retail sector.
• Strong negotiation skills with large retail chains.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive strategic initiatives.
• Excellent analytical mindset to monitor market trends and performance metrics.
• Experience in budgeting and financial tracking for trade channels.
