Lawyer, Office of the General Counsel (KSA)

About the role

The ME Office of the General Counsel (OGC) team provides day-to-day legal advice and support to client-facing teams across the Middle East, helping the business grow while taking appropriate risk decisions. This Senior Manager lawyer position in Riyadh requires substantial experience in regulatory and litigation matters as well as corporate transactions, and the ability to balance risk with a commercial outlook. The role is open to visa sponsorship.

Key responsibilities

• Support the ME Chief Risk Officer and General Counsel on litigation, corporate, commercial and regulatory KSA matters, and advise KSA partners daily on queries and contentious matters
• Interpret laws and regulations for engagement teams and support commercial and transactional matters
• Own the firm's response to regulatory inquiries and investigations in KSA, acting as primary liaison with regulators, prosecutors and law enforcement
• Advise on liquidations and bankruptcy situations involving clients or ex-clients
• Lead internal investigations in significant litigation, review pleadings and filings, and work with technical experts
• Keep Global R&Q, Global OGC and PwC UK OGC teams informed on significant adverse matters, and liaise with R&Q functions such as Independence, Compliance and AML
• Produce guidance, templates and updated policies and procedures, and review and redesign processes where needed
• Ensure compliance with PwC Network standards, policies and procedures, and contribute to the team's continuing professional development

Required profile

• Senior Manager level; substantial experience in regulatory and litigation matters and corporate transactions
• Ability to balance risk with a commercial outlook and to apply business judgment flexibly
• Deep relationships with partners and senior engagement team members
• Willingness to travel; visa sponsorship available
