Lead Design Engineer - Structural

About the role

Nesma & Partners is hiring a Lead Design Engineer - Structural in Riyadh. The role provides leadership, direction and technical expertise across architectural design projects, overseeing designs, offering innovative solutions and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the engineering team, give on-the-job training and feedback, and promote the company's values and ethics.
• Monitor engineering budget performance and report variances to management.
• Work with internal stakeholders, suppliers and contractors to interpret design specifications and source sustainable materials.
• Develop engineering standards for architectural designs and liaise with procurement and contracting on architectural services and materials.
• Guide the use of tools such as VDC and BIM, and oversee schematic designs and drawings.
• Lead design decisions, coordinate with other disciplines (architectural, structural, mechanical, civil), and take part in site inspections and as-built review.
• Implement quality assurance checks, ensure compliance with local and international regulations (e.g. ISO), and prepare reports on time.
• Contribute to QHSE, continuous improvement and the implementation of policies and procedures for the engineering team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture or a related field.
• 6 years of related experience, including 2 years in supervisory roles in similar positions.
• Knowledge of HSSE regulation and compliance, stakeholder engagement, project management, risk management, cost control and budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
• Preferred: AutoCAD certified professional, Certified Quality Engineer or similar certification, and experience in the EPC industry.
• English is essential; Arabic is preferred.
