Lead Electrical Engineer

About the role

ASSYSTEM is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to head the electrical discipline on complex energy and infrastructure projects in Al Khobar. You will provide technical direction, ensure compliance with Saudi regulations, and drive the delivery of high‑quality electrical designs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary electrical engineering team, allocating tasks and monitoring productivity.
• Oversee the development of electrical designs for medium‑ and low‑voltage distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, motor‑control centres, emergency power, UPS, battery and lighting systems.
• Prepare and review detailed engineering calculations such as load schedules, short‑circuit, arc‑flash, voltage‑drop, and protection coordination.
• Ensure all design deliverables (single‑line diagrams, layout drawings, specifications, bills of quantities) meet internal standards and Saudi authority requirements.
• Coordinate with Saudi Electricity Company, other utilities, and multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, HVAC, telecom) to resolve interface issues.
• Support BIM implementation, clash detection, and model‑based design reviews for the electrical discipline.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading electrical engineering teams on large‑scale infrastructure or energy projects.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi electrical codes (SBC 401, SEC standards) and international standards (IEC, NFPA 70, BS/EN).
• Ability to manage stakeholder relationships, technical reviews, and quality assurance processes.
