Lead Field Services Engineer

About the role

GEV is looking for a Lead Field Services Engineer in Dammam to provide all resources and logistics needed for services and maintenance on customers' sites. The work maintains, repairs and refurbishes GEV Power Conversion and Storage products, mainly for electrical rotating machines such as synchronous and induction motors and generators and excitation systems. It covers preventive and remedial maintenance, manages maintenance facilities and field services engineering, and is accountable for the quality of its own work.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, commissioning, refurbishment, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrading of synchronous and induction machines and excitation and AVR systems.
• Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services.
• Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives on installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer sites.
• Write technical reports, order materials, secure quotations, prepare job status reports, customer reports, timesheets and expense sheets.
• Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labour working on customer sites.
• Maintain a strong safety mindset in line with GE safety standards.
• Prepare timely, accurate technical reports for customer records and as a reference for future outages.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• At least 5 years of field maintenance experience with electrical motors and generators.
• Willingness to travel about 80% of the time and to work remotely as required.
• Valid driver's licence and prior field services experience are desired.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, strong organisational skills and strong oral and written communication skills.
