Lead Integration Architect

About the role

The Lead Integration Architect is a senior technical leader responsible for designing, building, and modernising enterprise integration ecosystems. You will own the technical roadmap that connects distributed applications, SaaS systems, data platforms and legacy environments using secure, high‑performing cloud and hybrid integration platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Define and govern the integration reference architecture, covering API management, iPaaS/connectors, event‑driven messaging, workflow orchestration, data movement and legacy remediation.
• Establish engineering standards for API design, versioning, documentation, automated testing, code review, source control, deployment, secrets management, resilience and error handling.
• Maintain an integration catalogue that documents existing integrations, owners, data flows, consumers and associated operational and security risks.
• Design, develop and maintain integration services (APIs, events, message flows, connectors, transformation scripts) and associated CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, dashboards, audit logging and incident‑response practices to improve observability and reliability.
• Assess and remediate legacy point‑to‑point interfaces, batch jobs and unmanaged scripts.
• Manage platform, vendor and financial responsibilities, including budgeting, licences and service‑level contracts.
• Lead, coach and mentor a small technical team, allocating work, reviewing performance and supporting recruitment.

Required profile

• Extensive experience designing and operating enterprise integration platforms in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Proven ability to define architecture standards and enforce governance across large organisations.
• Strong leadership and mentorship skills with a track record of guiding engineering teams.
