Lead Piping Engineer – Design Engineer IV

About the role

Fluor is seeking a results‑driven Lead Piping Engineer to deliver high‑quality engineering solutions for brownfield, greenfield, revamp and operating facility projects. The role provides technical leadership, manages deliverables and ensures safe, cost‑effective execution in line with international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead piping engineering activities across various project types, applying cost‑competitive execution methods.
• Develop and review specifications, design criteria, scopes of work and execution plans.
• Oversee piping layouts, equipment arrangement, routing optimization and constructability.
• Perform engineering calculations, specify equipment and resolve technical issues.
• Conduct site surveys, field verification, tie‑in identification and plant modification assessments.
• Review vendor documentation and coordinate resolution of technical discrepancies.
• Mentor and guide piping engineers and designers to ensure high‑quality deliverables.
• Participate in HAZOPs, design reviews, risk assessments and MOC processes.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco, SABIC, ASME, API and other international standards.
• Provide technical support during construction, commissioning and startup.

Required profile

• Accredited engineering degree (4‑year or global equivalent) with at least 8 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with management, clients, vendors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to interpret and apply local, regional and national codes, standards and guidelines.
• High attention to detail and capability to work efficiently under time‑sensitive conditions.
• Professional memberships in relevant technical societies are preferred.
