Lead Site Manager – EHV Substation Project

About the role

The Lead Site Manager will oversee the complete execution of an Extra‑High‑Voltage (EHV) substation project, from mobilization through civil works, erection, testing and commissioning. Reporting to the GE operations supervisor, the role ensures quality, safety, schedule and cost performance while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the overall site lead for the substation project, ensuring delivery within the agreed timeframe.
• Represent GE on‑site for the customer, maintaining high levels of satisfaction.
• Establish and enforce site health, safety, security, housekeeping, fire protection and quality policies.
• Develop site infrastructure, rules, organization, resource plans and monthly expense costing.
• Plan, schedule and coordinate all site execution activities, including civil, MEP, electrical and testing & commissioning works.
• Monitor project cost, schedule, safety and quality performance; initiate corrective actions as needed.
• Control expenditures for equipment, materials and services to stay within budget.
• Coordinate daily with subcontractors and the customer, providing regular progress reports.
• Review installation drawings, manage method statements, risk assessments and non‑conformance reporting.
• Oversee receipt, inspection and security of materials and equipment.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale construction or substation projects.
• Strong knowledge of national, regional and local safety and health regulations.
• Ability to manage multi‑disciplinary subcontractor teams and interface with customers.
• Excellent analytical skills for cost, schedule and performance reporting.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
