Lead Solution Architect – Airports

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Solution Architect to define and deliver integrated technology solutions for airport operations. You will shape the architecture of passenger processing, baggage handling, common‑use systems and operational platforms, ensuring they meet safety‑critical performance and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design end‑to‑end airport technology solutions covering check‑in, self‑service kiosks, bag drop, boarding, baggage reconciliation and operational systems.
• Define target architectures, roadmaps and design artefacts across applications, data, integration, infrastructure, cloud, networks and security.
• Develop integration architectures (APIs, ESB/iPaaS, messaging, event‑driven patterns) linking airlines, ground handlers, regulators and retail partners.
• Embed cyber‑security, data‑protection and regulatory compliance into all designs (security‑by‑design).
• Lead the technical authority throughout the engagement lifecycle – from bid to mobilisation, design, build, test and transition.
• Mentor a team of solution and domain architects, chair design authority boards and manage technical risk.
• Engage with airport executives, airlines, regulators and technology partners to translate technical concepts into business value.

Required profile

• Significant experience as a solution or enterprise architect on large, complex programmes in aviation, airport or critical‑infrastructure sectors.
• Deep knowledge of airport operational systems (AODB, RMS, FIDS, BHS, CUPPS/CUSS/CUTE, BRS, A‑CDM) and the IT/OT landscape.
• Proven hands‑on architecture across applications, integration, data, cloud platforms and cyber‑security.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and ability to produce high‑quality design documentation.
