Lead Specialist, Autonomous Platforms

About the role

Ma'aden, a major mining and metals company in the Middle East, is hiring a Lead Specialist for Autonomous Platforms in Riyadh. The role leads specialized technical solutions within Sustainability & Resource Growth by designing, developing and deploying autonomous platforms that improve operational efficiency, safety and innovation, while managing complex initiatives and collaborating across functions.

Key responsibilities

• Design autonomous platform architectures integrating robotics, IoT, AI and control systems, and define technical standards and design patterns
• Lead the technical design and implementation of autonomous platforms and guide engineering, data/AI and operations teams
• Deploy autonomous capabilities into operational environments and integrate sensors, control systems, data platforms and analytics, including OT and IT systems
• Maintain performance, reliability and safety, defining monitoring frameworks, benchmarks and KPIs
• Ensure compliance with governance, cybersecurity, regulatory and safety standards, and manage deployment risks
• Work with Innovation, Operations, Engineering and Data & AI teams, and drive continuous improvement and assessment of emerging technologies such as AI-driven automation, robotics, digital twins and edge computing

Required profile

• 8-10 years of experience in autonomous systems, robotics, industrial automation or advanced technology environments
• Proven experience designing or implementing autonomous or semi-autonomous platforms
• 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in process control or industrial automation systems
