About the role
The Load Master is responsible for the safe and efficient loading of cargo aircraft, ensuring compliance with IATA regulations, safety standards, and company procedures. This role involves travel on cargo flights, coordination with crew and ground teams, and meticulous documentation of load plans.
Key responsibilities
- Travel on each cargo flight as directed and review load planning, weight and balance documents.
- Inspect unit load devices and ensure correct preparation and placement.
- Operate cargo doors and loading systems safely, adhering to maximum hold, pallet, zone, weight, and cumulative load limits.
- Monitor and secure special cargo such as heavy, bulky, dangerous goods, live animals, perishables, and valuable items.
- Conduct regular inspections during flight and transit to maintain safety of special cargo.
- Coordinate with maintenance or flight mechanics for any system malfunctions and keep cabin logbooks updated.
- Submit detailed loadmaster reports after each flight and prepare required statements and reports in line with company policies.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or Aviation Management.
- Experience with cargo aircraft loading procedures and weight‑balance calculations.
- Strong understanding of IATA safety regulations and aircraft manufacturer limitations.
- Ability to work in a team, communicate effectively with crew and ground personnel, and identify continuous‑improvement opportunities.
