About the role
The Logistics Planner (Station Planner) manages the end‑to‑end flow of imported grains, from vessel arrival through discharge, storage allocation and head‑house loading, ensuring cost‑effective delivery while maintaining safety and capacity utilization.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare discharge plans for each grain vessel based on ETA, cargo quantity, berth windows and storage capacity.
- Recommend and coordinate vessel discharge sequences to minimise demurrage and optimise storage impact.
- Allocate incoming grain across silos and flat storages to maximise utilisation and avoid congestion.
- Maintain daily stock positions, manage FIFO rotation and oversee grain transfers to protect quality.
- Schedule head‑house loading points to match station demand, truck availability and stock levels, balancing sources to maximise throughput.
- Plan barley deliveries to meet station demand while minimising total landed cost and report cost per ton delivered.
- Publish daily and weekly reports on vessel line‑up, discharge status, storage and loading utilisation, and keep ERP data accurate.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, industrial engineering or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in port, bulk terminal or grain storage operations planning, preferably with dry bulk vessel discharge and silo management.
