Warehouse Keeper

About the role

The Warehouse Keeper is responsible for the safe receipt, storage, issuance and accurate record‑keeping of all materials on site, including copper cathodes, scrap, finished rod coils, spare parts, consumables and packaging. The role ensures that physical stock always matches system records, that materials are available for production when needed, and that storage conditions protect material quality.

Key responsibilities

• Manage receiving, storage, issuance and movement of copper materials, spare parts and consumables.
• Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, delivery documents, quantities, weights and condition, coordinating with QC and Logistics.
• Maintain organized, safe storage with proper bin, rack and yard locations, labeling and stacking.
• Issue materials to Production and Maintenance based on approved requisitions and prepare stock in advance of production runs.
• Apply FIFO/FEFO and batch/lot traceability from receipt through production.
• Record all GRNs, issues, transfers and returns in the ERP/WMS on the same day.
• Conduct cycle counts, physical stock takes, investigate discrepancies and maintain high inventory accuracy.
• Perform weighbridge reconciliation for copper cathodes and scrap and report variances.

Required profile

• Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehouse Management, Business Administration or related field.
• 5–6 years experience as a Warehouse Keeper, Storekeeper or Inventory Controller, preferably in metals or heavy industry.
• Experience handling high‑value raw materials, heavy/coiled products and weighbridge reconciliation is an advantage.
• Forklift or crane certification is a plus.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and extended hours when required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, FIFO/FEFO, cycle counting and stock reconciliation.
• Weighbridge reconciliation capability.
• Forklift and crane operation (certified preferred).
